Half A Sixpence
We have never received so many e-mails, letters and telephone calls praising a show. Everyone who came to the Theatre thoroughly enjoyed the show- many saying it was our best ever. It was thought by some of our patrons that the principals were professionals (which they were- albeit not paid) Congratulations to all the cast, the production team and everyone else involved in making “HALF A SIXPENCE” such a wonderful show.
Christmas Party
We had a lovely relaxed evening, getting everyone in the mood for Christmas. Entertainment was provided by some of our older members but it was great to have some younger members also showing their talent. It bodes well for the future. Thanks must go to everyone who took part either by singing, dancing or playing the piano and to everyone else who helped on the evening .

- Sunday Rehearsals:
- 25th September2011 until 16th October 2011 inclusive from 2.00pm.
- Plaza Theatre Rehearsals:
- Sunday 23rd October 2011 from 11.00am until late evening and Monday 24th October from 6.15pm.
All the above Rehearsals will be at St. Andrew’s Community Church, Gorsey Mount Street Stockport Please arrive on time as rehearsals will begin at 7.30pm prompt.
Ticket Sales
If we are to continue staging shows members must sell many more tickets. The same people manage to sell 60 or more each year and some only two. The cost of putting on shows goes up each year and particularly so this year due to the VAT increase. Group bookings are needed as they provide good revenue and help fill the Theatre. Bookings are already open so please find a group (20 or more) – Churches, Ladies groups, U3A, Social clubs etc.. It is not too early to book.
E-Mail Addresses
Due to increased cost of postage if you now have an E-mail address please send it to PatBrimarn@aol.com. All correspondence can then be forwarded to you thus saving the Society a considerable amount of money. Thank you.
Noda North West Awards
We are very pleased to learn that Andrea Sutcliffe has been nominated for the “Best Supporting Female actor in a Musical” award. The Awards Ceremony is on Sunday evening 1st May 2011 at the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool.
Corporate T-Shirts Etc.
It has been suggested we have a top with the Society logo. These could be either...
- T-Shirts: approx. £10.00;
- Polo Shirts £7 to £11.00; or
- Hoodies approximately £20.00;
If you would like one of the above would you please state your preference and size (S/M/L/XL).
Membership Fees
Costume Fee
A one off payment of £15.00.
Libretto/Score Loan
A cheque for £25.00 dated 29/10/2011 will be required before the books can be loaned out. It will be returned when the book(s) are returned clean and undamaged.
Rehearsal Fee
A contribution of £1.00 per week payable at Company rehearsals is requested to offset some of the rehearsal room hire.
Fund Raising
Should you have any ideas, and are willing to organise a Fund Raising event, please inform the Chairman Pat Marney.
